Information on planned event on Ukraine

Dear friends!

For your attention, here is an information on the planned event on Ukraine and human rights in Geneva.

On November 14, 2017, Ukraine will present its national report regarding the 3rd cycle of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) in Geneva. This unique mechanism of the Human Right Council (HRC) aims to review the Human Rights situation of all United Nations Member States and to hold each state accountable in front of the international community to align their National strategy to the recommendations of the UPR.

Event will take place within the Human Rights Council UPR (Third Cycle), 28th Session, on 14 November 2017,  at 13:00-15:00, in the Palais des Nations, Geneva, conference room XXIII.

With the participation of Ukrainian human rights defenders and the Office of the Ukrainian Ombudsperson, the below panel will examine Ukraine’s situation concerning the protection and the safeguard of fundamental rights in the light of new human rights challenges.
